In the Peruvian Amazon, the Awajun indians have lived for a long time in total harmony with the forest and river. Today, they are faced with high costs for ensuring their children’s health and schooling.
That’s why AVSF Director Frédéric Apollin and Director of Programs Christophe Chauveau recently went to meet the organization of Awajun indians, with a view to creating a new development program. In just a few weeks, AVSF will begin working to help strengthen fishing and fish-farming activities, the production and sale of high-quality cocoa, and the women’s poultry-raising activity through a program focused on providing vaccinations and ensuring animal health.
